Once more into the breach dear friends

Sunday, September 25th - Effingham, Illinois

"There is a low pressure system just sitting over the Midwest.  If the jet stream were lower, temperatures would be much higher and we'd see this system move on"

I found it!  And for our last day on the road we received 8 solid hours of rain.  Not ideal, but time had run out and we needed to get back home, some 450 miles away.

Illinois, Indiana and Michigan with only stops for gas and coffee.  No problems with the bikes except for frozen fingers.  Each stop had us drying gloves on the hot motors, and drinking coffee to warm up.

We were saving lunch for Darkhorse Brewery in Marshall.  God I love this place.  The problem is that two beers here easily turns into too many.

Warming up with pizza and some Crooked Tree IPA.  In a couple of days I'll be hard pressed to find American IPA in the UK, better drink it all now.

Detroit calling:  3 vehicles, similar milage, same number of occupants...

8:00 p.m. and finally heading for home along the 696 raceway.
